External independent laboratories (FINAS, ISO 17025 accredited) continuously audit transformation processes. Each step is controlled to assure complete product control from raw materials to the finished product.

Microbiological, chemo-physical and sensorial analysis is made in modern and completely equipped laboratory to assure strict quality control.

For organic production, Pharaonic Bioherb is bio-certified from {The Egyptian Center of Organic Agriculture (ecoa EN-45011 a certification and inspection body Accredited under registration No.DAP-ZE-3315.00 of the German accreditation council)}.

Monitoring and quality control measures during production, post harvest handling and packaging:

1- GlobalGap standards for the whole production and processing.

2- Naturland organic standards of Germany for organic production in our farms.

3-Organic conformity certification from ECOA that is an inspection and certification body of the German Accreditation Council certifies that the samples and shipment is 100% organic, produced, processed and packed in compliance with the EEC Regulation 2092/91&EN45011.

4-Certification from the central laboratories of the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture (ISO/ FINAS Certified) states that the shipment is either free from pesticides (600 different pesticide) for organic products or comply with and less than the standard MRL values stated for Europe.

5- Certification from the central laboratories of the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture (ISO/FINAS Certified) states that the shipment comply microbiologically with the standard bacterial count of the German legislations and free from salmonella.

6- Certification from the central laboratories of the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture (ISO/FINAS Certified) states that the shipment comply regarding the heavy metals with the standards mentioned in the German legislations.

7- Official Phytosanitary certification issued before shipping from the Egyptian authority of inspection of exported agriculture products stating that product is complying with the Egyptian standards for products to be exported and that it could be exported to Europe.

Environmental and sustainable plans:

-GlobalGAP consideration in the company procedures results in a lower pesticide usage at the farm, fewer losses and leaching of nutrients and pesticides. GlobalGAP directly addresses a number of environmental issues at the farm and in the chain.

-CO2 emission during transport is considerably lower when onions are shipped from Egypt to the EU in fast movers even with high freight cost that we take on our behalf (effect on carbon footprint).

-A waste water management and cleaning system will be installed in the value added centre.
-Integrated Pest and diseases management / pesticide management is promoted at the farms level with a minimum use of pesticides.

- Position of women: The majority of the laborers engaged in packaging and grading of onions are women. Women and men will benefit equally from the staff training program and the favorable working conditions in the factory. All staff, man and women alike, are offered job promotion for those who want to participate in training activities, develop themselves and take responsibility for the operations in the factory and in the field. The medium and higher staff and management positions women and men will be equally represented.
